The Tragically Hip were formed at Kingston, Ontario.

Bob Baker, Gord Sinclair, John Fay, Paul Langlois and Gord Downie.

The group began playing the University Circuit and were a fan favourite and a must have band at University events.

Playing a gig at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto MCA President Bruce Dickinson was so impressed with the band that he signed them to a long-term recording contract.

Over the years the group has produced fourteen albums.

They have received sixteen Junos and the Order of Canada conferred on the band. As well the band has received “A National Achievement Award”.

Plus, they were given a Star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, given the Royal Conservatory Fellowship Award, a Governor General’s Performing  Arts Award and the National Arts Centre Award.
