Triumph was formed in Mississauga, Ontario.
Members include Rik Emmett, Gil Moore and Mike Levine.
The band started playing all over Ontario and in essence began to self promote.
Their first album was released by Attic Records, a small Canadian studio and it brought the attention of RCA Records who signed them and began promoting their records everywhere except Canada. This didn’t sit well with the band and the relationship ended. MCA records was waiting in the wings and signed them to a long-term contract and promoted them as a Canadian band and opened doors everywhere for the group to get fully established.
Over the years the group has released sixteen albums. All went Gold or Platinum.
The band still tours and San Antonio, Texas which has claimed the band as their adopted Sons.
