The Group was formed at Worcester, Massachusetts, as a Blues Trio.
John Geils (stage name J.), Richard Salwitz (stage name Magic Dick) and Danny Klein (stage name Dr. Funk)
The group played ion and around Worcester as the three attended Worcester Polytechnical Institute.
After graduating, the group added drummer Stephen Bladd and Peter Blankenfeld (stage name Peter Wolf) and later added Seth Justman on the keyboards.
Within a short time, the group signed with Atlantic Records and the J. Geils Band never looked back.
To date the group recorded eleven albums and were one of the best U.S. bands but never received the accolades they should have received.
J. Geils passed away in 2017 and the group has decided to continue touring under the J. Geils name.
