I was writing and I got to the point where I needed a rest from verbs and adjectives.  Writing, truly is, a lonely profession.

I turned on the television.” Don’t think,” I said to myself. Netflix, seemed like a good idea.

I came across Liam Neeson starring in a very Canadian named film entitled ” The Ice Road “.

” Liam Neeson “, I said, to myself. ” King of the B’s. Why not ” !

Now, I have seen the TV series ” Ice Road Truckers “. I thought

” The Ice Road ” it might be interesting. The North, Snow, Ice Roads but apparently the only Ice Road according to Hollywood is Lake Winnipeg.

Please understand … 11 years of Theatre School and a Diploma from the

Hollywood Film School in New York for Directing and Producing allows me to view films a little differently. (Or at least I like to think so)

All films are formula films.  A Formula Flick usually has four “… Oh No’s ” and One “… Oh my God ” !

The film contained the usual cast of Hollywood characters.

Liam our Hero. His brother the War Hero whose brain was damaged during the war.

A feisty first Nation woman who was angry at everyone and her brother is trapped in the mine explosion. A good natured boss whose only thought is to save the minors.

Plus the evil incarnate character in the guise of an Insurance Inspector.

Well ” The Ice Road ” had about Twenty ” Oh No’s and at least Five ” Oh my God’s “… it became more frustrating to watch than it was searching my brain for another adjective….at least I had a Thesaurus.

Every time I thought the film would end… it went on with another ” Oh No”.

Sadly I watched the film until it’s inevitable end. ” That’s my bad “!

Now, you might enjoy the film…I hope that you do…I’m just being a critic.

By the time I got to the fifteenth ” Oh No “, I was checking out who wrote this horrible piece of… you know what ?  I kept thinking the director needs to go back to film school.  I forgave the actors… because they needed a job.

The only good thing I found in the film was today’s song.

” All Coming Down “

I could go on…but I won’t. Cathy told me to calm down.

Apparently I was  exclaiming ” This is Terrible”  and  ” Liam, you should know better.”

I then went back down to my desk, opened  my Thesaurus and looked for other words to describe  ” calm “.

Enjoy
