I first heard “Baby please come Home” on the radio in 1963, if I remember correctly, and I liked it, instantly. It has been a favourite of mine since that time.

In 1986, Darlene Love was a guest on Letterman when he was on ‘The Late Late Show’ on NBC.

She came out and with Paul Schafer and his band, – guitar, piano, bass and drum, she stole the show. The next day calls, telegrams and overnight letters flooded NBC. Everyone loved

Darlene and the song.

This stared a tradition for the next 28 years of Darlene singing “Baby Please Come Home” on the Letterman Christmas show.

I watched Darlene sing the song, every year, as part of my own Christmas tradition.

I never get tired of it.  I just love the song and to hear the powerful magnificent voice of Darlene Love is a treat for me.

As Letterman has retired, that Christmas tradition has been retired, but I have the internet and I can listen to Darlene sing this wonderful energized, heartwarming song.

Everyone on the music list knows that I send out this song at Christmas time and to everyone else, please enjoy. I send it as gift.

This video is from the 25th anniversary of Darlene singing the song on Letterman. From 2011.
