The Smithereens are from Carteret, New Jersey.

Formed in 1980 the band never achieved Superstar status and was always considered  a working band although many other artists considered them exceptional.

For the most part the group opened for other more established groups such as Bon Jovi and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to name a couple.

The band was also in demand by other artists to help in arranging their music recordings such as Belinda Carlisle and Steve Van Zandt to name two.

Over the years the group released 25 albums.

In 2017 lead singer Pat DiNizio passed away due to 

Complication of Nerve Damage in hid hands that he had dealt with since 2015.

The band is still performing and if  you get an opportunity to see them live….it is well worth the Price.
