Merry Christmas to each and everyone.

I have sent you my favourite Christmas song.

My hope is that you will enjoy the song as much as I do.

I first heard the song in 1963 when Darlene released it as a single for the Christmas Holidays. I loved it then.

I would play the song every year at Christmas as a personal tradition.

Then in 1986 at Christmas time Darlene was scheduled to appear on the Late Late-Night Letterman show when he was on NBC.

I liked Letterman and I watched the show whenever I could.

Darlene comes out and sings Christmas; The NBC telephone board crashed with the number of calls. The next day Darlene and the song were the topic of conversation. People who had missed the show wanted to see it, so NBC ran the tape the next evening.

When Letterman was signed to the Late Show on CBS, his contract stipulated that Darlene Love was to be scheduled for the Christmas show.

It seems that Dave loves the song as much as I do.

From 1986 until Letterman retired, Darlene came out and sang the song every Christmas.  I watched every single Christmas show just to hear

Darlene’s magnificent powerful voice.
