Avril Lavigne was born at Belleville, Ontario and raised at Napanee, Ontario.
At an early age Avril was always singing, around her home, listening to records and imitating different singers’ styles, just because she liked to sing.
Her father, Jean-Claude played Bass and her mother Judy sang in the church choir.
Jean-Claude built Avril a music studio in the basement of their home, so Avril could mature her voice and familiarize herself with a recording studio.
At age 15, Shania Twain heard Avril sing and gave her an opportunity to open her concerts on her Ontario swing which led to ten opening dates across the province.
By age 16, Avril signed a contract with Arista Records for two million dollars and her first album “Let Go” sold worldwide and gave her the name of ‘Pop Punk Princess’.
Avril’s success has led to opportunities in film and she is interested in learning more about film.
She designs her own clothing and her designs are manufactured by Kohl’s and is sold worldwide. As well, she has a line of Fragrances for young women, Black Star being the first of the line.
Avril donates millions of her wealth to various charities and has made her parents and siblings millionaires.
France was so impressed with Avril; they made her a French citizen.
To date Avril has released ten albums and shows no sign of slowing down. She continues to look for opportunities that will enhance her career and her philanthropy.
To date Avril has received 221 awards for her music and philanthropy.
Canadian girl does good, and is good. We should all be proud.
