Morna Anne Murray is from Springhill, Nova Scotia.

Her formative years were spent studying piano and voice, and upon graduating from high school she headed off to Mount St. Vincent University but transferred to The University of New Brunswick where she graduated with a Teachers Degree and then headed off to Summerside, Prince Edward Island where she taught Physical Education.

All along Anne was singing and jamming with friends writing songs and thinking about a musical career.

She auditioned for “Sing a Long Jubilee” a weekly television show on the CBC from Halifax and won a regular spot on the show.

In 1969 Anne released an album “This Way is my Way” on it was a small Gene MacLallan song, “Snowbird ” which went number one in Canada and number eight in the U. S .and the rest is history.

Anne became Canada’s Sweetheart and everyone loves her. All her concerts sell out and she is regarded as the Grand Dame of Canadian Music.

Anne has garnered twenty-four Junos, three Grammys, three AMAs plus other awards around the world as well as numerous awards for her Civic Philanthropy. She is in the Canadian Country Hall of Fame and the U.S. Country Hall of Fame.

With all her fame and accolades Anne has always in Toronto and has a summer home in Nova Scotia.
