Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell, New Mexico he learned to play guitar at an early age.
Bored at college, he left school and headed to New York City and began playing guitar and writing songs.
A prolific song writer, opportunities were abundant and he recorded his first album.
In a short time, his albums were selling worldwide.
On one particular musical tour travelling through Colorado John stopped the tour bus, got out looked around at the mountains and said, ‘I’m home’.
It just goes to show you that because you are born in one place, you can always pack up and move to someplace else.
As well you can always change your name, if you do not like the one you have.
As an avid aviator John enjoyed flying and sadly, he was killed when his plane lost power over the mountains in 1997.
On a good note his music is still played to this day.
