Deva was born in Kaua’i Hawaii and her father is Blues and Jazz legend Guitarist “Taj Mahal.”

Taj’s real name is Henry Saint Clair, but legally he is Taj Mahal.

At age seventeen the family moved to New Zealand where Deva says she found her voice and a few years later the family moved to New York City. 

Deva then moved to New Orleans and in 2020 moved back to New Zealand.

Her musical style ranges between Funk, R&B and Blues.

Her soulful style has been compared to Amy Winehouse.

She has a strong powerful voice.
