The Turtles were formed at Los Angels, California in 1965.

Before the group became the Turtles they were known as the Nightriders, the Crossfires and then the Tyrtles.  Management made them “The Turtles”.

Mark Volman ( Lead Guitar ), Jim Tucker ( Rhythm Guitar )

Chuck Portz ( Bass ), Don Murray ( Drums )

As a group the band lasted until 1970 when the members felt they were tired of the road and members wanted to go in a different musical direction.

The band released Five albums over their five year run.

In 1983 Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman resurrected the Turtles with some studio musicians and are still active to this date. they play a combination of their Turtles hits , some covers and a a selection of new songs.
