Jann Arden Anne Richards is from Springback, Alberta.

Her formative years were a normal Canadian teenager’s, school, dances, boys and studying guitar.

Jann began her career playing in and around the Calgary area where she was discovered by Neil MacGongill, a manager, who took under his wing and produced her first album “Time for Mercy” in 1985 and was her personal manager until 1998.

Jann’s career has constantly move forward. Not reams of publicity, just steady growth and fan support. 

Over the years Jann has released eight albums and she has won eight Juno Awards. She was songwriter of the year 1995 and Best Female Artist 2002.  As well, she has accumulated Video Awards, Prairie Awards, Western Canadian Awards and The Aria Award.

Jann is on Canada’s Walk of Fame. Her song “Run Like Mad” was used as the intro song to “Dawsons’s Creek” television show. She has appeared in numerous television and movie roles and has worked for and donated to various charities in Canada and abroad.
