There is nothing that I can add to the story of ABBA. (Or can I?)

From Sweden, although Frida (redhead) is from Norway.

When Bennie (piano) and Bjorn (guitar) were looking for some voices to add flavour and heart to their songs, Agnetha (blonde) had just finished high school and decided to record a song and she did! (Not sure how, but she recorded a record and then got it played on Swedish radio.)

Bennie and Bjorn heard the song and said, ‘Hey, she’d be great singing for us.’ So, they signed her up!

Agnetha is a Soprano (no not that Soprano) and Bennie and Bjorn then realized that they needed a lower case just below a Soprano.

Frida was singing at a Stockholm night club when Bennie found her and thought ‘You know, this girl can sing!’ He then convinced her to join the band. Frida is a Mezzo Soprano.

Within a day the girls were tested together. Both girls can belt out a song, but their voices blended so musically and with harmony that it seemed that they were a natural voice.

Neither of the girls spoke English and, in the beginning, learned the songs phonetically. 

Agnetha was 18. Frida was 23. (I always liked Frida)

ABBA was born.

Over the years Bennie married Frida.  Bjorn married Agnetha.

After so many years of travel and 24-hour working days: Bennie and Frida filed for divorce. (Not sure why) Then Agnetha filed for divorce because Bjorn was having an affair with Frida. Then it was learned that Agnetha was having an affair with Bennie. (Oh, the shame!)

Well then, they settled their problems by getting married again.

Frida married Bjorn and Bennie married Agnetha. (Happiness Reins)

Off they went on a World Tour where Agnetha and Frida were seen trying to outdo each other on stage. (shorter skirts, a small push or nudge on stage (to take the spotlight)) and at one point Frida stretched a very beautiful leg (and it is beautiful) right in front of Agnetha, which in turn Agnetha replied with a full tightly draped derriere to the audience which elicited an ovation from the crowd.

(Girls just trying to out do one another but it seemed to have benefits.) 

But life goes on and in time both couples divorced again and stayed single until they broke up as a group. (Success, money and power can kill almost anything — but perhaps that is just me.)

Bennie and Bjorn forgave each other and vowed to keep working together.

ABBA brought more money and fame to Sweden than any person, or corporate business.  ABBA was Knighted by the King of Sweden and basically the King gave them the ‘Keys to the Kingdom’ (Sweden is the Kingdom, if you are not sure).

There was some animosity between the parties but time and understanding of youthful indiscretions have brought forgiveness.

Eventually because of business reasons the girls began to speak to one another again and forgave each other.

The group reunited in London for the opening of the musical “Mamma Mia”.

Everyone seemed happy and friendly with one another. 

ABBA fans wanted to see a re-union tour (including myself) but to no avail.

Although there are plans for a World Wide Broadcast from London, that apparently are still being worked out. (We can only hope)

Agnetha (still single) lives in Sweden. Recorded some albums in Swedish, does charity work and is loved throughout Sweden.

Frida married a Swiss Prince and was made a Swiss Princess and she still sings on a part time basis. Does charity work as well.

Bennie and Bjorn are in London working on everything and anything musical.

Musicals, plays, movies and working with and signing young artists.

Both are remarried.

ABBA was a force of nature. They began my love affair with Swedish Pop bands. (And yes, I still like Frida)
