Great Big Sea, began at St. John’s, Newfoundland, and started a journey that would take them around the world and to musical fame.

The Band started a Celtic band and then morphed into a Celtic Rock  and folk-Rock music.

Alan Doyle, Bob Hallett, Murray Foster, Kris McFarlane, Sean McCann and Darrell Power.

The popularity of the band increased with every new tour, bringing a sense of  fun and absolute joy to their audiences. People just loved them.

Over the years the group has released nine albums, but after twenty years on the road (the road took it toll on the band) and Sean McCann decided that  he needed a rest and left the band.

The band continued on for another year, but in 2015 they decided to go on hiatus and are hoping that perhaps the band could re-form for another album. No word yet.
