Daryl Hall and John Oates formed their duo at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1970.

Being good friends, Daryl does most of the lead vocals and John does most of the backup vocals.

Both are accomplished guitar players.

They write most of their songs in collaboration and separately as both are song writers who write for other artists as well.

The duo has been classified as Pop Rock, Blue Eyed Soul, Soft Rock and R&B. (They’re just good.)

In 2003 they were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

In 2014 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
