Bobby Curtola is from Port Arthur, Ontario.
By age fifteen Bobby was writing and playing songs in and around the Port Arthur area with his band Bobby and the Bobcats.
By 1962 Bobby had three hit songs playing on radio stations across North America. “Indian Giver”, “Aladdin” and “Fortune Teller”.
On his first trip to London, England, Bobby was chased by thousands of screaming girls and had to be escorted into his hotel where he was essentially trapped because he couldn’t even go out for a walk as girls were thronging by the thousands disrupting traffic and causing numerous civil problems for the city and police.
In 1969 Bobby wrote and sang “Things Go Better with Coca Cola” which just added to his wealth and fame.
He started businesses in Ontario and across Canada and employed Canadians from every walk of life. Bobby said that he just wanted to share his good fortune with as many people as possible.
Over his career he recorded twenty-five albums. All went Gold before the industry ever thought of Platinum.
Bobby is in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and was awarded the Order of Canada.
