Aretha Franklin passed away on August 16, 2018.

I don’t think I could add any information that may not already be known to many of you.

Aretha was an inspiration to many singers of all races.

Her powerful voice just came out of her seemingly with little or no effort.

“Respect” was released in 1967 and the track eventually became her trademark signature song.

Over the ears her stage performance of “Respect” was lengthened and aided by backup singers and a full orchestra became a focal point of her performances.
