Lady A is from Nashville, Tennessee.

The group was formed in 2006 and has been successful since that time.

Hillary Scott  ( Lead Vocals, Background Vocals )

Hillary is the daughter of Country Singer Linda Davis.

Charles Kelley ( Lead Vocals, Background Vocals, Guitar )

Charles is the brother of  Pop Singer Josh Kelley.

Dave Haywood ( Guitar, Mandolin, Piano, Background Vocals )

Dave has no relatives in the Music business.

Originally Lady A was known as Lady Antebellum.

Due to protests over the Antebellum South and Slavery the group decided to change their name to Lady A.

That same week ( due to the Band’s ignorance )  Blues and Gospel singer ” Anita White ” came forward and claimed that she had always performed under the Lady A name.

After many months and many Lawyers in backrooms… Anita White agreed that for a payment of Five Million dollars to her and an additional payment of another Five Million to be paid to Seattle Charities, Black Lives matter, plus a Legal Defense Fund for artists. She would give up the name.

Even though they had an agreement between them it took a Tennessee court and two more years to settle the name change.

Apparently, everyone… is now happy.
