The Canadian band Toronto was formed in the seventies.

The group was known as a Hard Rock band with a Glam-Punk edge and a Streetwise image.

The band was extremely successful and their fans just adored the band.

This particular song ” What About Love ” has a story to go with it.

For some reason Canadian Radio Stations refused to play it. Any reasonable explanation was never forthcoming.

It reminded Canadian Music Artists of the time in the Sixties when Canadian Radio Stations refused to play a Canadian Artist. It took the Government to step in and create a Law that forced Canadian Radio Stations to play at least three Canadian Artists every hour.

The Shame of all this is that Canadian Radio mangers and DJ’s thought that they weren’t doing anything wrong in Refusing to play Canadian Artists.

Now this was the Seventies the law was in place…What’s the problem?

No explanation…ever.

Along come the Eighties and the Wilson sisters leave Seattle   for Vancouver form a band with Five Canadian Musicians …call themselves “Heart”

Find the song “What About Love” … Record a Cover… and the song explodes over North America.

Remember “Toronto” started in the Seventies.

Take a look a Toronto and see if there are any comparisons.

The Canadian Radio Industry should be ashamed of themselves.

Enjoy
