John David Souther is from Detroit, Michigan.

He is a singer, songwriter, musician and record producer.

He began his career writing and playing with Linda Ronstadt with whom he had a relationship with for a short while.

He met The Eagles when they became Linda’s backing band for two years.

JD began writing for The Eagles and has always had a close relationship with the band.

He has played with the Eagles as an extra musician, as well as Longbranch, Pennywhistle, James Taylor and his own band of Souther – Hillman (The Bryds) – Furay (Buffalo Springfield).

Over the years he has recorded 10 albums as a solo artist as well as numerous albums with associated acts.

JD has also acted as a regular on the third season of “Thirty Something” and in the film “Post Cards From the Edge”.

JD has had an interesting and varied career but his strength has always been his song writing.
